Activation Fee

Definition

An additional fee some firms charge after passing the challenge, before receiving the funded account.

How It Works

Some prop firms charge an activation fee (also called a "setup fee" or "funded account fee") after you pass the evaluation. This is separate from the challenge fee and can range from $50 to $500.

Not all firms charge this — many consider it included in the challenge fee. Activation fees are an important cost to factor in when comparing firms, as they increase your total cost to get funded.

Always check the fine print: some firms advertise low challenge fees but add hidden activation fees later.
