Prop Firm Scam

Definition

A fraudulent prop firm that takes challenge fees without intending to fund traders or pay out profits.

How It Works

Unfortunately, the prop trading industry has scam firms that: never pay out profits despite traders meeting all requirements, add hidden rules to disqualify profitable traders, use manipulated price feeds to trigger drawdown violations, disappear entirely after collecting challenge fees, or inflate TrustPilot ratings with fake reviews. Red flags include: extremely high profit splits (100% on instant funding), unusually low challenge fees, no verifiable company registration, recently created websites, TrustPilot pages under investigation, and no social media presence.

Always verify a firm's track record before committing your money.
