Halcyon Trader Funding Review: Plans, Rules, and How It Compares
Halcyon Trader Funding
Halcyon Trader Funding (Halcyon Trader Funding LLC) is a United States based futures proprietary trading firm that sells simulated evaluation accounts leading to simulated reward accounts. It runs two programs: Halcyon Lite, a single-step evaluation on a trailing drawdown with no consistency rule, and Halcyon Prime, which uses an end-of-day drawdown and a 40% consistency rule. Traders keep a 90% profit split on both, and rewards are paid through Rise (RiseWorks). The firm supports Volumetrica, WealthCharts, TradingView, Quantower, Rithmic, TradeSea and Onyx. Its established date is not published, and its TrustPilot profile is unclaimed with a 2.8 rating from 3 reviews. This review records what the firm published as of 16 August 2026.
Halcyon Lite plans and what they cost
Halcyon restructured its Lite pricing in August 2026. The evaluation fee is now a smaller up-front number, and a separate activation fee falls due when you pass and move to a reward account. The figures below are the firm's default homepage pricing state, which it labels "w/ Activation fee". The higher figure in each price pair is struck through on the page and the lower one is shown with the site-wide promo code HTF that the firm displays in its own footer.
| Plan | Evaluation fee (code HTF) | List price | Activation fee | Reset fee | Profit target | Trailing drawdown | Max position |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K Lite | $32 | $53 | $59 | $27 | $1,350 | $1,000 | 3 mini / 30 micro |
| 50K Lite | $41 | $68 | $79 | $36 | $2,750 | $2,000 | 5 mini / 50 micro |
| 150K Lite | $83 | $138 | $163 | $78 | $8,500 | $4,000 | 10 mini / 100 micro |
The activation fee matters when you compare Halcyon against firms that charge one all-in price. A 25K Lite evaluation bought at $32 and then passed adds the $59 activation fee, which comes to $91 before any reset. At list price the same route is $53 plus $59, or $112. All three plans require a minimum of one trading day to pass, and every Lite plan carries the same 90% split.
The homepage also offers a "NO Activation fee" pricing mode and an end-of-day drawdown mode for the Prime program. Both are client-side toggles whose figures were not readable during this review, so no prices are quoted for them here.
The advertised evaluation fee is not the full cost of getting funded. Add the activation fee for the size you intend to trade before comparing Halcyon with a single-fee competitor.
Halcyon Prime: rules published, prices not
Prime is the end-of-day drawdown program and is sold in the same three sizes. Its evaluation targets are $1,500 on 25K, $3,000 on 50K and $9,000 on 150K, against end-of-day drawdowns of $1,000, $2,000 and $4,500. Contract limits mirror Lite at 3, 5 and 10 minis. Prime applies a 40% consistency rule, which the firm states requires a minimum of three trading days to pass, and it sells a 1-Day Pass add-on that removes the consistency requirement. If a trader buys that add-on and fails, the firm includes it in the reset price.
Trading rules
Halcyon is day-trading only. All positions must be closed and all orders cancelled by 4:45 PM EST, and the firm states positions are automatically liquidated outside trading hours, with a failure to close at the simulated brokerage stage resulting in a failed account. Copy trading is allowed, and there is no limit on how many evaluation and funded accounts a trader may hold, though the total number of active reward accounts cannot exceed three at any time. Bots, algos and semi-automated systems are permitted provided the trader is the sole owner of the system and does not run it across multiple firms; the firm may request proof of usage. High-frequency trading bots are not allowed. On the Lite line the firm advertises no consistency rule, no daily loss limit, no minimum trade hold time, no micro scalping rule, and that news trading is allowed. The Lite drawdown is a trailing limit that follows the account's highest balance upward.
How rewards work
For Lite accounts purchased after 8 August 2026, the account must be above its starting balance to request a reward, with no buffer to clear first. A trader must complete eight full trading days before a first request, and six of those eight must meet a minimum daily profit of $100 on 25K, $200 on 50K or $350 on 150K. Qualifying days reset to zero after each approved reward, and only new profit earned since the last approved reward counts toward the next one.
A request may be for up to 50% of profits earned, capped at $1,000 on 25K, $2,000 on 50K and $3,000 on 150K, with a $250 minimum. Each Lite reward account allows a maximum of five approved requests, after which the account is reviewed for a transition into the firm's TLT program or a live brokerage account. On the first approved reward the maximum loss limit moves permanently to the starting balance plus $100. The firm states it has no payout window, processes requests first-in first-out within three business days through RiseWorks, and pays a 90/10 split.
Halcyon publishes two separate Lite reward guides, one for accounts bought after 8 August 2026 and one for accounts bought before. The terms above are the post-8 August set. Confirm which one governs your account before planning a withdrawal.
What traders say
The TrustPilot profile is unclaimed and holds 3 reviews averaging 2.8, all posted between June and July 2026 and all rated 1 or 2 stars. One reviewer states they bought an account and later found the payout conditions changed to include a 50% maximum withdrawal, payout caps and a six-day minimum profit requirement, and that the firm applied the new terms to existing accounts rather than keeping legacy conditions. That account matches the structure of the post-8 August 2026 rewards guide the firm now publishes. Another reviewer describes three passed 25K accounts being consolidated into a single account in the TLT program after a first payout request, and a third describes an account terminated for alleged cross-account hedging that the trader disputes. These are individual allegations, not verified firm conduct, and the firm's own homepage states zero reward denials alongside a claim of more than 16,450 active traders.
Pros and cons
Pros
- 90% profit split across both programs, with a one-time purchase and no subscription.
- Lite evaluations can be passed in a single trading day, with no consistency rule and no daily loss limit.
- Seven supported platforms including TradingView, Quantower, Volumetrica and Rithmic, and copy trading plus algorithmic systems are permitted.
Cons
- The activation fee is charged in addition to the evaluation fee, so the headline price understates the cost of reaching a reward account.
- Day-trading only with a hard 4:45 PM EST close, and the Lite trailing drawdown never moves back down.
- Each Lite reward account is capped at five approved rewards, and reward requests are limited to 50% of profits up to a per-size cap.
How Halcyon compares
Against established futures firms in our database, Halcyon's entry price is low but its safety grade is not competitive. Topstep carries a PropFirmMap score of 7.9 and an A safety grade with a 90% split and a cheapest listed plan at $49. Tradeify scores 8.0 with an A+ grade, a 90% split and a cheapest plan at $99. MyFundedFutures scores 8.1 with an A+ grade and a cheapest plan at $109. Halcyon scores 4.7 with a D safety grade.
| Firm | Cheapest listed plan | Profit split | Safety grade | PropFirmMap score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Halcyon Trader Funding | $32 with code HTF ($53 list, plus activation) | 90% | D | 4.7 |
| Topstep | $49 | 90% | A | 7.9 |
| Tradeify | $99 | 90% | A+ | 8.0 |
| MyFundedFutures | $109 | 80% to 90% by plan | A+ | 8.1 |
The comparison is close on profit split, where all four sit at or near 90%, and separates on price and track record. Halcyon is the cheapest way into a 25K futures evaluation of the four, and once the activation fee is added its all-in $91 still sits under Tradeify and MyFundedFutures. What it does not yet have is the review volume or the grade those firms carry: three TrustPilot reviews is too thin a sample to read as a payout record either way.
Verdict
Halcyon Trader Funding is a low-cost entry into futures evaluations for traders who want a one-day pass, no consistency rule and no daily loss limit on the Lite line, and who are comfortable with day-trading-only rules and a hard 4:45 PM EST close. The 90% split and the permitted use of copy trading and algorithmic systems are genuine points in its favour, and the published rulebooks are unusually detailed about reward mechanics.
The reservations are the split fee structure, which makes the advertised price look cheaper than the route to funding actually is, and the reward ceiling of five approved requests per Lite account with a 50% per-request cap. The firm also changed its Lite reward terms on 8 August 2026 and applied them to accounts already sold, which at least one trader disputed publicly. With a D safety grade, a 2.8 rating from 3 reviews and no published established date, this is a firm suited to traders who are willing to test a smaller account first rather than commit to the 150K plan on day one.
