Main Benefits

One-time fee with no monthly subscription or recurring billing. No forced daily loss limit on any account. End-of-day trailing drawdown rather than intraday, so an intraday dip that recovers by the close does not fail the account, plus a static-floor track for traders who prefer a fixed limit. Payout requests approved in under 24 hours, with $300 added to the payout if approval is ever late. Up to 100% profit split on the simulated funded tracks. No minimum hold time and microscalping is allowed. Up to five funded accounts tradable at once, with no limit on concurrent evaluations. The Express to Live track routes a passing trader to a real live brokerage account with an 85% split, daily uncapped payouts and a $0 activation fee.

Main Drawbacks

No overnight or weekend holding is permitted on any account. Automated and algorithmic trading is prohibited. Positions must be flat at least two minutes before scheduled tier-1 economic releases. Trading is restricted to CME, COMEX, NYMEX and CBOT futures - stocks, options, forex, crypto and CFDs are not permitted. All evaluation fees are non-refundable once credentials are issued and are not refunded on the first payout. Ruby funded accounts carry a 40% consistency rule at every payout and a first-payout balance buffer. The firm is young - its TrustPilot profile was claimed in April 2026 and carries only 19 reviews - and the linked public rule book at /rules returns a 404, so the full rule set is only available in summary form inside the Terms of Use.

About Onyx Futures

Onyx Futures (ONYX) is a simulated futures prop firm operated by Onyx Futures LLC, an Illinois limited liability company, governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. It sells one-time-fee evaluations across two simulated tracks - Sapphire (40% consistency, 3 minimum trading days, passing to a Ruby funded account) and Flex (52% evaluation consistency, no minimum trading days, passing to a Flex Funded account) - in 25K, 50K, 100K and 150K sizes, both on end-of-day trailing drawdown with up to a 100% profit split. A separate Express to Live track sells a Platinum-X static-floor account in $1,000 to $3,000 drawdown sizes, where the size bought is the risk budget rather than an account balance; passing its evaluation and buffer phases routes the trader to a real live brokerage account with an 85% split, daily uncapped payouts above a $300 minimum and no activation fee. No ONYX account carries a forced daily loss limit, there is no minimum hold time and microscalping is allowed, but automated trading and overnight or weekend holds are prohibited and trading is limited to CME, COMEX, NYMEX and CBOT futures. Execution is on Rithmic with licensed CME market data, through Tradara, TradeSea or DeepCharts. Payout requests are approved in under 24 hours, with $300 added to the payout if approval is ever late.

News trading is not banned outright, but all positions must be closed at least two minutes before scheduled tier-1 economic releases, so a position cannot be held through one. Overnight and weekend holds are not permitted on any account. There is no minimum hold time and microscalping is explicitly allowed.
Challenge vs Funded
Consistency rule Challenge: 52% during the Flex evaluation only, and 40% on Sapphire and Gold. On Express to Live the rule is a daily base-hit cap equal to the profit target divided by seven ($286, $429, $572 or $858 by size): the most any single day can count toward the target. If a day beats the cap the target rises to that day's profit times seven rather than the day being void, the cap scales up to 2x while the account is in drawdown, and it is removed entirely once the evaluation passes. Funded: 40% checked at each payout on Ruby and Platinum. None on Flex Funded. None on the Express to Live live account.
Drawdown type Challenge: End-of-day trailing drawdown on Sapphire and Flex - calculated once daily at the market close, not intraday. Static floor that never moves on the Gold and Platinum-X tracks. Funded: End-of-day trailing drawdown on Ruby and Flex Funded, uncapped and never locking at breakeven. Static floor on Platinum. On the Express to Live buffer phase the floor ratchets up once the evaluation is passed, locking in the gain.
Drawdown & risk
Daily loss resetNot applicable on the simulated tracks: no ONYX account carries a forced daily loss limit, so there is no daily loss reset. Traders may optionally set their own limit from the dashboard. Express to Live accounts carry a fixed daily loss limit of $400 to $1,200 by drawdown size.
Max position sizeExpress to Live: 1 mini / 10 micro ($1,000), 1 mini / 15 micro ($1,500), 2 mini / 20 micro ($2,000), 3 mini / 30 micro ($3,000). No contract limit is published for the Sapphire or Flex tracks.

Reset policyA failed evaluation may be reset to restart at the same size with metrics cleared. Resets are a one-time, non-refundable payment. Section 8 of the Terms describes a separate funded-account reset that ONYX may apply after a risk-management breach, which returns the balance to the starting balance without a new fee.
Instruments & restrictions
Allowed instrumentsFutures listed on CME, COMEX, NYMEX and CBOT. Stocks, options, forex, crypto and CFDs are prohibited.
