TrustPilot Has Withdrawn the Rating of 39 Prop Firms: A Study of 145 Profiles

A prop firm's TrustPilot score is the single most quoted trust signal in this industry. It appears on the firms' own landing pages, in their advertising, and in the comparison tables that rank them, ours included. This study asked a narrow question: how many prop firm profiles still have a rating at all?

Between 22 and 25 August 2026 we re-checked 145 prop firm TrustPilot profiles. 39 of them carry a notice from TrustPilot, displayed above the company name in place of the stars, that reads verbatim:

This company's rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines.

On those profiles the star rating is withdrawn. The reviews are not. The 39 flagged profiles publish at least 73,502 consumer reviews between them, which remain readable while the score that summarised them does not exist.

What the notice does and does not tell you

TrustPilot publishes the fact of a breach and links to its guidelines for businesses. It does not publish the cause for an individual company on the profile itself.

So this study reports what is on the page and stops there. We do not attribute a reason to any named firm, and a reader should not infer one. What can be said without inference is narrower and still useful: for these 39 firms, TrustPilot has judged something about the profile to be in breach of its own rules, and has responded by removing the number the firm advertises.

Disclosure: 13 of these 39 firms are our commercial partners

PropFirmMap earns affiliate revenue from some of the firms it lists. 13 of the 39 flagged firms are current commercial partners of ours, including the largest profile in the set. Every row in the table below is marked accordingly. We are publishing the list unedited because a study that quietly omitted its own partners would not be worth citing, and because the finding is a fact on TrustPilot's website rather than an opinion of ours.

How we verified it

The flag in our database was not trusted on its own. On 26 August 2026 we re-fetched all 39 profiles and confirmed that 39 of 39 still render the notice, so there are no stale rows in this list.

We then tested the opposite error. A detector that fires on everything would produce this same result, so we drew a control of 10 firms from the same checked set that our data did not flag, and fetched them identically. Zero of the 10 carry the notice; all render a normal star rating.

Review counts are read from the live profile on the same date. Three of the 39 profiles do not publish a review total in a machine-readable form, so their count is recorded as unavailable rather than estimated, and the 73,502 total is a floor drawn from the other 36.

Limits of this study

• The denominator is our re-checked set, not the market. 145 profiles were re-checked in this window. A further 72 firms in our database were not, so the market-wide count is unknown. The 39 is a count, not a projection.
• The status is a snapshot. TrustPilot restores ratings. Any figure here describes 26 August 2026, and each row links to the live profile so a reader can check the current state rather than take our word for it.
• Coverage is not random. The 145 are the profiles our data pipeline reached in that window, not a random sample, so this cannot be read as a market-wide rate.

Methodology

Universe: firms in the PropFirmMap database with a TrustPilot profile URL on file whose profile was re-checked between 22 and 25 August 2026, giving 145 firms. All 145 have a profile; none were recorded as having no profile at all.

Measure: presence of the string "rating is unavailable due to a breach" in the rendered profile page, which is the sentence TrustPilot displays in place of the rating.

Verification: all 39 positives and a random control of 10 negatives were re-fetched on 26 August 2026. 39 of 39 positives confirmed, 0 of 10 controls flagged.

We will send the underlying per-firm data, including fetch timestamps, to any journalist or researcher who wants to check or extend this. The figures are reproducible from the public profiles linked above.
