About MetaTrader 5
MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is MetaQuotes' multi-asset trading platform, supporting Forex, stocks and futures trading through connecting brokers. It offers a flexible trading system with two position accounting modes (netting and hedging), four order execution modes (Instant, Request, Market, Exchange), and a full set of order types including market, pending, stop and Trailing Stop orders, placed via the Market Watch window, Market Depth, hot keys, or One Click Trading. Technical analysis is covered by 38 built-in indicators, 44 analytical objects, 21 timeframes and up to 100 charts open at once, with three chart types (broken line, bars, Japanese candlesticks). Algorithmic trading uses the MQL5 language, a multi-currency Strategy Tester with visual testing, genetic-algorithm optimization and forward testing, plus the MQL5 Cloud Network for distributed testing. The MetaTrader Market and Code Base offer thousands of third-party trading robots and indicators, and a Trading Signals service supports copy trading. The terminal is free to download and use (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, plus a browser-based WebTerminal), is translated into 31 languages, and Virtual Hosting (VPS) is offered for 24/7 unattended operation. MetaQuotes, founded in 2000, is a software vendor and does not itself provide brokerage or investment services; support, market data and broker connectivity are provided by the connecting broker, not by MetaQuotes.
